nicholas la maina
is a NYC-based emerging professional dancer, choreographer, arts and fitness instructor, and Co-Founder/Artistic Director of eni artist collective, Inc., a 501(c)(3) New York State nonprofit dance company. Originally from West Palm Beach, Florida, he began dancing at his mother’s studio, That’s Dancing, before earning a BFA in Dance from The Juilliard School.
Nick currently works as a freelance movement artist across performance, choreography, teaching, modeling, and movement assistance. His professional experience spans contemporary dance companies, nightlife and immersive performance, artist touring, designer collaborations, and film and photo work.
He is honored to have performed in works by Ohad Naharin and Billy Barry, Damien Jalet, Sharon Eyal, Bobbi Jene Smith and Or Schraiber, William Forsythe, Jermaine Spivey, Yue Yin, Andrea Miller, Camille A. Brown, Sidra Bell, Johannes Wieland, Ken Ossola, and Studio Wayne McGregor, among others.
Nick’s choreographic practice, developed alongside eni artist collective, is rooted in both physical and metaphorical movement language. His work builds immersive worlds that critique social structures and invite audiences to question their relationship to space, power, and human and non-human conditions. Whether whimsical or severe, his creations remain grounded in honesty, curiosity, and accessibility, with a mission to create bold, disarming work that engages a wide and diverse audience.
